This site is my initial effort to make a portion of the genealogy research I have done on my family available on the Web. I will be placing my direct ancestors in a database on this site. I have a larger tree built around the DIELEMAN surname, but to save space, I keep that tree offline. If you are interested in the larger tree, drop me a note! My main goal is to get a small part of my family tree on the Web for my immediate family to enjoy, and to promote contact with other branches of the DIELEMAN family.

My ancestors originated in Zeeland, Netherlands. They immigrated to the United States in the mid 1800's. They settled in Central Iowa, where most of my family still resides.

My father started working on our family tree a few years ago. It was interesting, but difficult to keep all the names straight. I then found Piet Ouwens DIELEMAN family tree (you can find his site on my links page), and was fascinated by how easy it was to click back through history. That fanned the flame, and I merged my fathers' hand written information with a GEDCOM file supplied by Piet, and I was in business! That led to the creation of this site, and WHAM, a hobby is born.
