Co WV about 1813 and in the spring of that year he and son Thomas
built a cabin on land John owned along the bottoms of Mill Creek

Said to have attended the first school in what's now Upshur Co
WV in 1797. Said to have been in the Rev. War but he was never
able to prove it because of his young age at the time. During
the Indian Wars he was a scout for eight years. 1831 he was on
the first grand Jury of Jackson Co. Thomas and Mary lived at
Mill Creek WV
