  *  Jacob Ellsworth b. cir 1751 Rowan Co NC
        1779 served as private in Revolutionary War. Brother-in-law Reverend
        Joseph Cheuvrant and the Ellsworths formed a Methodist Society known
        first as Ellsworth preaching place. Ellsworth family donated land
        for the Methodist Church, there's still a Methodist church on this
        site. An early settler in Ohio and according to family tradition "He
        was captured by Indians and escaped by running the gauntlet". Moved
        to Champaign Co OH sometime in 1810. Buried in Clark Co OH
