a native of New England, who settle in Trenton in the mid 1840's, was "the venerable Eulogist of the Second Battle of Trenton," also known as the Battle of Assunpink, and "the first to fix importance of that engagement."
Two of his works are "Thirty Days in New Jersey" and "Annuals of Trenton."
His home, one of the cottages of Trenton's "Cottage Row" which extended on the south side of East State Street to Clinton Avenue, was the scene of several patriotic celebrations.
