Henry Penny of Paignton was born on 12 December 1571 at Paignton, Devon, England.2 He was the son of William Penye.2 Henry Penny of Paignton married Jane (?) circa 1593 at Paignton, Devon, England.3 Henry Penny of Paignton was a baker before 1630 at Paignton, Devon, England.4,5 He was a witness where Cecily Penny appeared in the will of her father as Cicelly Chapin on 6 April 1630 at Paignton, Devon, England.5 Henry Penny of Paignton left a will on 6 April 1630 in which he is termed "baker" and "of Paignton."1 He left a will on 6 April 1630; In his will he made bequests to his daughter, Cicelly Chapin, his nephew [i.e. grandson], David Chapin, and to Katherine Chapin and Sarah Chapin. (This established the identity of the Samuel Chapin and wife Cicely of Paignton with the Samuel Chapin and wife Cicely of Springfield, Mass.).4,5 He was a witness where David Chapin appeared in the will of his grandfather as nephew [i.e. grandson] David Chapin on 6 April 1630 at Paignton, Devon, England.5 Henry Penny of Paignton died before 18 May 1630 at Paignton, Devon, England.2 His estate was probated on 18 May 1630.4
