Note on Husband: Ebenezer + ALEXANDER

Captain Ebenezer Alexander, known as the "Fighting Deacon" of Northfield, Mass. b. 17 Oct 1684 d. 22 Jan 1768. Lived previously at Wethersfield, and Coventry, Conn.; he filled many important offices in the town of Northfield, Mass, saw much service in Father Rasle's War, serving as Ensign under Capt. Thomas Welles and as Lieutenant under the famous Capt. Benjamin Wright; 9th March, 1744-1745, he was commissioned Lieutenant in the expedition agains Cape Breton; was at the capture of Louisburg, 17th June, when Sir William Pepperell gave him a Captain's Commission, 13th July. In 1746 he served under Governor Shirley in the expedition for the reduction of Canada; in 1748 although then sixty-four years old he was a leader of a compnay raging the woods in the search of Indians; was Deacon in Northfield for forty years; m. 10 Oct 1709, Mehitabel Buck, of Wethersfied, b. 1684; d. 6th March 1767, dau of Henry and Elizab eth (Churchill) Buck."4
