Husband of Mary Pierce. Father of Elizabeth Coldham Norwood, wife of Francis Norwood.

 

Clement immigrated to Essex County, MA before 1647. He lived in both Lynn and Gloucester, MA.

 

He was elected as Deputy in Gloucester before 4 SEP 1653, elected to be a Selectman in Gloucester, MA on 15 FEB 1664, and elected Cannoneer in Lynn, MA in 1691.

 

He was a jury member in the trials in Salem on 29 NOV 1659 and in June 1661.

 

His occupations were farmer, constable, miller, a member of the Ancient Artillery Company, and self-appointed overseer of Gloucester townspeople and their morals! The first mention of him in the Quarterly Court records is 11 Sept. 1649 as a witness to the beating of Richard Stocker by Thomas Farrar .
