Nellson and Ezekiell Northend to set off her thirds.Richard Dole was a slave owner. In Mar. 1676, Grace, waspresented to the Ipswich Quartery Court for fornication and was orderedto be whipped or pay a fine. She is listed as "Richard Dole's negro." 36Ipswich Quarterly Court, Apr. 1678: Richard Dole certified, Apr.29, 1678, that about the beginning of the wars with the Indians, Capt.Gerrish was at his house with a company of soldiers intending to go toSalem. Capt. Geerish wanted money to lay out for the soldiers, and helent him 20s. and charged him for it. When they came to an accounting,said Gerish told him that he must charge the country for it which hedid, but the constable refused to pay it and the Captain paid it. 364
