The newest marker is the circle one and reads: John Marcy 1662 - 1724 This memorial is dedicated to John Marcy who emigrated from the British Isles to Roxbury, Mass. in 1683. He was one of 13 original pioneers who settled in New Roxbury (later known as) Woodstock, in 1686. Erected in the bi-centennial year 1975 by Charles E. Marcy - California Henry C. He came to America in 1683 at about age 24 and settled in Roxbury, Massachusetts. In 1686, he removed to what was later Woodstock, Connecticut as one of the original founders. He married Sarah Hadlock about 1687/1688. He was a deacon in his chuch as well as a husbandman and proprietor.

"John Marcy was the son of the high sheriff of Limerick, Ireland. . . . as an adult, he joined Elliot's Church in Quatosett (Woodstock), Conn. In April, 1686, he, with others, took possession of Quatosett (Woodstock), Connecticut."
