Lieutenant George Bartlett

"1. DEACON GEORGE1 BARTLETT is said to have been a brother of John Bartlett who lived in Windsor. He was at Guilford soon after the settlement of the plantation.

Deacon Bartlett was married, by Mr. Samuel Desborough, to Mary, daughter of Abraham Cruttenden, on Sept. 14, 1650. He died Aug. 2, 1669, and was buried the nest day. His wife did not long survive, but died on Sept. 10, 1669.
Their children were:
i. ELIZABETH,2 b. Mch. 16, 1652-53; d. Oct. 4, 1742; m. Hon. Abraham Fowler, Aug. 26, 1677. He d. Sept. 30, 1719.
ii. MARY, b. Feb. 1, 1654-5; d. Nov. 1724; m. Nathaniel Stone, July 10, 1673. He d. Aug. 11, 1709.
iii. JOHN, b. Nov. 9, 1656; d. Aug. 15, 1669.
iv. HANNAH, b. Nov. 5, 1658; m. 1679, Capt. Stephen Bishop of Guilford, who removed to Coventry, in 1716.
v. DEBORAH, b. 1660; Dec. 10, 1692; m. John Spinning, Mch. 16, 1867, and removed to Newark, N. J. He d. Feb. 27, 1712.

"LIEUT. GEORGE BARTLETT (16 - 1669) came in the second ship to New Haven in 1669. He removed from Guilford to Branford and died there August 3, 1669, and his widow died there the next month. He married September 14, 1650, Mary Cruttenden (b. 163 ; d. Sept. 11, 1669), daughter of Deacon Abraham Cruttenden (16- 1683) and Mary ------ (16 -1664). They had seven of more children.
