"SAMUEL4 (Jonathan,3 Jonathan,2 Nicholas1), born in Billerica, 16 Sept., 1692; married 5 Aug., 1714, Dorothy, daughter of John and Sarah (Chamberlain) Shed, born 14 Jan., 1691-2.
He died about 1749. The estate of Samuel Danforth, of Billerica, yeoman, administration was granted 17 Aug., 1749, to Samuel Danforth, Jr. The inventory included "one right in a township granted to soldiers that weare in the Narraganset wars." The property was set off to the widow and second son, Samuel, 3 Nov. following; and these persons signed a paper, agreeing to the arrangement for paying the other heirs their portions: "Doirty Danforth, widow; Joseph Danforth; Walter Pollard; Thomas Danforth; Benjamin Danforth, and Benjamin Shed and Jeremiah Abbot, as guardians to younger children Sarah, John, Joshua, Lucy and Jonathan. Joshua was "now of Woburn" 22 May, 1749, and his guardian at that time was Jonathan Poole.
