" One of our German citizens, who has resided here for 23 years, named Martin Sauter, died of consumption, Monday night, at the age of 50 years and 6 months. His funeral, on Wednesday afternoon, was attended, besides his relatives and friends, by the Turnverein, of which body he had been a member, their colors being draped in black. The President of the Turnverein spoke at length at his grave of the good qualities of the deceased. Mr. Sauter leaves a widow and eight children, who through his industrious habits are left in easy circumstances.".
