"William1 Hallett, b. about 1616, in Dorsetshire, Eng., emigrated to Greenwich, Conn., where, in 1547, he, with Elizabeth Feake, had charge of the property of her insane husband, Lieut. Robert Feake, (pp. 134-6), and thence in 1649, with Elizabeth, removed to Newton, L. I.; the next year William Hallett & Elizabeth hallett conveyed to Jeffise Ferris all of his and his wife's interest in land purchased by Daniel Patrick and Robert Feake at Greenwich, Conn. William Hallett was in Hellgate in 1652. On 14 May, 1652, William Hallett bought of Thomas Baxter the house and plantation which Baxter had bought of his father. A few years later (1654±), he settled on what is known as Hallett's Cove, where he is said to have lived to the age of ninety years, and died leaving sons, William and Samuel.*.".
