William Johnson

1Jennie Alberta Calderwood Ancestry.
"William (2) born 1652. He married SARAH LOVEJOY on May 23, 1678 in Andover. She was the daughter of John (1) Lovejoy and Mary Osgood. She was born April 10, 1654 and died Feb 22, 1706 in Andover. According to an article written by Charlotte H. Abbot, Sarah died from cancer, however there is no mention of this in the towns vital records. He married his second wife, HANNAH TURNER, in Andover on Nov 25, 1707. Before marriage she was a Lazelle of Eingham, and was a resident of Charlestown, MA where her first husband died. Hannah died on May 22, 1717 at age 55. Her daughter Mary, who married William and Sarah?s son, died later in the year, apparently having had a hard time adjusting to hard colonial life in rural Andover. William died on April 16, 1727. He had served as a Sargent in the Military."

2Deacon McLaren, Ancestry of the Lorimers of Chicopee, Massachusetts.
"The father of William Johnson--and, hence, the immigrant ancestor of this line--is unknown, but there is speculation that it was a John Johnson, born in 1609 in England, who was a planter of Ipswich at least as early as 1635. After the death of his wife, Sarah, in February 1705/06, William Johnson married the widow Hannah (Lasalle) Turner, who died in 1717. William's youngest child by Sarah, CALEB (#166), married Hannah's daughter, Mary, as his first wife six months after Hannah's death. Andover death records list William Johnson with an honorific of "Serg't," indicating his rank in the militia."
