Simeon Blanchard, about the time of his marriage, settled at New Ipswich and bought a farm in the southwesterly part of the town on the Massachusetts line, where he spent the remainder of his life. (Memorials of the Descendants of William Shattuck, 1855, pp. 169-170.)
He served in the Revolution for a short time under Capt. Silas Wright at Ticonderoga in 1777.
