"Jonathan³ Chaffe, (Nathaniel,² Thomas¹) was born in Rehoboth, Mass., April 7, 1678, and died there Dec 31, 1766. He married Nov. 23, 1703, in Rehoboth, Hannah Carpenter, daughter of William and Miriam (Searles) Carpenter. In a succeeding chapter in the latter part of this book will be found a brief account of the Carpenter family. Hannah Carpenter was born April 10, 1684 (1685), and in 1767 was appointed executrix of her husband's estate.
