"V. NATHANIEL (58), b. 26 March, 1742, son of Joseph Otis and Elizabeth Little; married 1764, Amy daughter of David Gardner and Jemima Gustin. He settled at Montville in New Salem Society (bow in the town of Salem) his farem lying on the west side of Gardner Lake.

Deacon Otis died with his son David G. Otis, at Waterford, 7 March, 1832, aged 92 years. She received a stroke of lightning about the year 1795, the lightning striking the dwelling where they lived, which prostrated her, she remaining unconscious for a time, and never fully recovered from the shock, but lived about twenty years, and died 30 Aug., 1815, aged 71 years.
