"70 DANIEL BATCHELDER5, baptized in Salem March 16, 1706-7. He was a coast mariner, and lived in Beverly. He married, first, Abigail Butman of beverly (published Jan. 19, 1729); and, second, Hannah Butman, Nov. 29, 1750. He died Aug. 18, 1751; and his wife Hannah survived him.

"1. PETER1 PATTEE was born about 1644 and died at Haverhill, Massachusetts, 19 October 1724 aged 80 years (g.s.). He married first, before 1675, a wife whose identity has not been learned (EQCR, 8:94-95). He married second, at Haverhill 8 November 1682, SARAH GILL (Haverhill TRs, 2-3:52), who was born at Salisbury, Massachusetts 27 June 1654, daughter of John and Phebe (Buswell) Gill (Vital Records of Salisbury, Massachusetts to the End of the Year 1849 [Topsfield, Mass., 1915], 117; David W. Hoyt, The Old Families of Salisbury and Amesbury, Massachusetts [1897-1919, rpt. Somersworth, N.H. 1981], 174; Essex Co. Probate File 10934). She died at Haverhill between 17 March 1718/9, when she placed her mark on a deed, and 19 July 1719, when Pastor Joshua Gardner called her "an old woman who died before she received the sacrament" (Essex Co. Deeds, 38:120; Mary F. Raymond, "Records of the First Parish" [Ms., 1895, Haverhill Public Library] [hereinafter First Parish], 2:61). Peter was married third by Rev. Mr. John White at Gloucester, Massachusetts, 19 November 1720, to widow SUSANNA (_____) HADLEY (Gloucester TRs, 13), who died at Gloucester 10 March 1735/6 in her 84th year (ibid., 164).

vii. MERCY, b. 29 Oct. 1691; m. ca. 1710 DANIEL ROLFE (Essex Co. Probate 20752), b. at Haverhill 14 Feb. 1685, son of Ezra and Abigail (Bond) Rolfe (Haverhill VRs, 1:260). The warning out of Daniel Rolfe and Family by the town of Bradford was allowed by the county court at Salem 25 Dec. 1722 (Essex Co. Court of General Sessions, 4:89). On 14 Feb. 1725/6 Daniel Rolf of Bradford, turner, and wife Mercy received a 5s bequest from the estate of "our father Peter patee" (Essex Co. Probate File 20752). By 10 Jan. 1732/3 they had removed to the "Plantation of Pennycook." later Concord, N>H>, where they were still living 12 March 1734 (Essex Co. Deeds, 80:83). Daniel Rolfe of Contoocook (Boscawen), perhaps the same or his son, purchased land there from Nathaniel Rolfe of Rumford 30 March 1743 (ibid., 101:218).
