Of the three sons of George Abbott of Rowley, the eldest, George, settled in Andover in 1655, where he married, in May, 1658, Sarah Farnum, and died March 2, 1689. The fifth of the ten children of George and Sarah Abbott, was Nehemiah, a deacon in the church at Andover and a representative to the General Court. He married in 1691, Abigail Lovejoy, who was the mother of his seven children.
