He married, about 1688, HANNAH STERRY, b. 18 Aug. 1672, daughter of Roger and Hannah (Palmer) (Hewitt) Sterry, the first husband of Hannah Palmer having been Thomas1Hewitt.

In his will,dated 4 June 1737 and proved 12 July 1738, he mentions his wife Hannah, his sons William (deceased), Joseph, Samuel, and Roger, his dughters Mary Boardman, Prudence, Rachel Kennedy, Hannah Clarke, Elizabeth Avery, and Dorothy Edwards, and his grandchildren Dorothy Edwards, William Edwards, and Hannah, daughter of his son Samuel (deceased).
