John Thomas Lucky married Millie Ann Benge.
According to later census records, they were both from Alabama.
Their son William Alfred Lucky was born in Anderson

on the indigent family roll for Confederate soldiers in Anderson

and William Hunter
Lucke (1/10/1818 in Richmond, VA; served in Civil War with Chatham Greys VA 53rd regiment with his future son-in-law). He was the son of Gustavus Locke, born somewhere in Germany 2/21/1775, died Richmond 4/17/1834. Does anyone have further information on this line? Sarah was my gggm. |

My brick wall is a James Lucky, born in Alabama in 1825, married Narcissa E. Cooper (b.1840, AL). Believed to have married about 1865 in TX. Had at least one child, a daughter, Margrett Lucky, b. 1869 in Wood Co., TX. Nothing in Census or Cemetery records for Wood Co. on them, so they apparently moved away. No clue on what happened to them or who his parents were (Narcissa was the daughter of H. A. Cooper and Malinda Amanda (Looney) Cooper). Do not even know where exactly in Alabama James Lucky was born. | Doris W. |

I have Benjamin Luckey and his wife Prudence.
He was born about 1798 in NY state. Benjamin
may be the son of John Luckey born 1760-1769. The 1840 census of Caroline
in Tomkins Co., NY has Benjamin Lucky with wife, 2 sons, and 1 daughter.
On next page of census is John Luckey and wife. He 70-79, she 60-69. The
1830 census of Orange Co., NY has same two families as next door neighbors
in Warrick township. John Luckey is not in Orange county in 1820 or 1810,
but may be in 1800 census of Orange Co., NY.
(There is a John Luckey in 1810 & 1820 censuses, but I don't think
it is same John.) Benjamin and Prudence had at least 4 children per census
records. Harriet ( My ancestor) is the youngest born in 1842 NY. In 1850
they are in Trumbull Co., OH with a Stephen
Luckey as a neighbor. He is probably their son.
That is all of my Luckey family info. I would love to have more! |

Our brick wall is one of two Alabama
Early Jackson Luckies that lived at the same time in two different by joined
counties, about 30 to 50 miles apart. Ours lived in Butler
County, the community of Monterey, present day Forest Home.
He is buried at Mount Moriah Baptist Church which was on or adjacent to
the Luckie property. He was married to Margaret Dorinda Yeldell
whose line we can get to 1670. He was born 14 Mar 1814 and died 15 Feb 1892. And he is supposed to have come to Alabama from Putnam County, Georgia. We figure the other Early Jackson Luckie probably had to be a cousin. |
