HOUGH-HARRIS CEMETERY
BOZRAH, CONNECTICUT
The name Hough-Harris probably came from the marriage of Phebe Harris to Jabez Hough who are both probably buried here, but with unreadableMarkers in 1934, a Mr. N. J. Spellman was commissioned to visit all the Old cemeteries in the area to search for veterans of our countries' wars as well as To morialize all the information found on headstones. This is his list of readableheadstones: Peter Harris, died December 8, 1840, age 85, Revolutionary War, Captain Watermans Co. Dyer Harris, died Nov. 26, 1874, age 79 ( He was a teacher in Bozrah ) John Rockwell Harris, died May 11,1848 age 60, War of 1812, Capt. French Co. Laura Hazen Harris (wife of JRH) died June 23, 1848 age 60 Sarah Harris, (unmarried dau. of Daniel Harris) died Aug 32, 1877, Age 79 Daniel Harris, died Sept 7, 1819, age 93, Revol. War in Capt Durkees Co. Sarah (Hunt) Harris,( second wife of Daniel H.) died Jan 29, 1812, Age 57 Gibson Harris (son of Dr.Benj. Harris of Preston) died Jan 27, 1830, age 80 Revol. War ,Served in Capt Watermans Co. Sarah Harris Waterman (dau. of Benj.) died Bozrah June 21, 1848 age 77 Gurdon L. Waterman died Feb 10, 1866 age 70=09=09 Hannah L. Manwaring Waterman (wife of Gurdon) died April 1, 1882 Francis Waterman (son of Gurdon) died Oct. 1, 1833 age 13 Martha Waterman (dau. of Gurdon) died Jan 28 1818 age 7 weeks Anna Harris Wightman (dau. of Benj Harris,wife of Capt Zururarel) died July 24, 1802 age 52 Capt John Wood died Jan 7, 1831 age 61 Amelia Foot, (wife of John Foot,dau. of Dr. John Scott) died Feb 20, 1791 age 18 Dr. John Scott died Feb 2, 1834, age 87 Sarah Scott, (wife of Dr. Scott) died Feb 24, 1826 age 76 William Hough died April 10, 1864 age 77.
