Welcome to Burlington, Ct.
Part of the US GenWeb Project
And The American History and Genealogy Project.
Burlington was formed out of the Northern half of Bristol in 1806, which was part of Farmington until 1785. Since I am just starting this site it may be a while before I have much information hear. Leonard Alderman, the Historian for Burlington has been putting information on the town's History on the Burlington's web site that you may find to be of interest, including listings of the cemeteries in Burlington.
Vital Records - The Barbour
Collection of Vital Records to 1852 is being typed up for this site. What is not hear now will be soon. There are
some records prior to 1806 in this collection from when people living in Burlington at that time had them recorded
in the new town in 1806. Most records prior to 1806 may be found in Bristol for 1785 to 1805 and Farmington prior to 1785.
Burlington Surnames - I have set up a page for you to register the surnames that you are working on in Burlington. Please visit this page and see if anyone is working on your family and add your surnames. This may be one of the most helpfull parts of this web site besides the Barbour Collection at this time.
