CONNECTICUT BIOGRAPHIES PROJECT

WELCOME TO CONNECTICUT
BIOGRAPHIES PROJECT
ESTABLISHED 2002

We'd like to give you a warm New England WELCOME to the Connecticut Biographies Project Home Page.  As you can see, we just took on this project and have PLENTY of opportunities for you to help out!
Connecticut Biographies
Co-ordinators:
Elaine Kidd O'Leary
Anne Taylor-Czaplewski

In May of 1997, this project was organized by Jeff Murphy, using the established KY Biographies Project as a model.  State coordinators were sought to set up their own state project.  They were offered the system design and tools created for the KY project, but were free to set up their project in any way they chose.  Volunteers are needed to enter, edit, and archive the biographies for each project.  If you have biographies you would like to donate for any of the Connecticut counties, or if you would like to "adopt" one of the available Connecticut counties,  please contact us!

These county sites are "UNDER CONSTRUCTION" meaning, they are far from complete.  We add new bios as we get them typed so check back often.  If there is a specific name you are looking for in a county that is already adopted, email the host as she might already have it copied but not online yet.

DO YOU HAVE A BIOGRAPHY YOU'D LIKE TO SUBMIT?
This is as easy as !  We can pretty much accept it in any form, either text or .doc (such as Microsoft Word) works great.  If you have it in another format, email us and we'll let you know if we can do it.  And be sure to include:

1. Your name and email address.
2. Who's the biography about? Include person's name & county.
3 And where you located the biography (book name & page) or if this was written by you.  Also, check in the front cover of the book for the copyright date and include that also.  Typically, most pre-1922 books are safe to copy/post.
4. AND SEND IT TO US!!!

And here's one of my FAVORITE sites when
it comes to Connecticut research!
