My McIntyre Family

William McIntyre is the earliest McIntyre I have found.  He was born about 1838 in Illinois.  I believe in what is now Massac County.  I don't have a date of death yet, but it was after 1880 when he was counted in the census for Massac County.  I have found the name spelled as both McIntyre and McIntire.  I go by the spelling of McIntyre as that is what his daughter, Lucy, (my 2nd great grandmother) went by.

William McIntyre married Ann Stepter on 02 October 1862 in Massac County, Illinois.  They had five children according to census records.

I believe that William McIntyre's parents were John and Elsie McIntyre. I found this family in the 1850 census for Massac County, with a William living in the household that would have been the right age.  Until I receive a copy of William McIntyre and Ann Stepter's marriage license, I am just guessing.
