A B C D E F G H I J K L M N O P Q R S T U V W X Y Z Key to Reference Documents The file of Jefferson County Residents was developed by Foothills Genealogical Society from many different sources. These include local historical books with genealogical information, vital statistic records, Jefferson county records, correspondence, publications including local newspapers and genealogical publications, census records, and donated family histories and records from 1858 to 1945. This compilation of names appears with reference codes to indicate the source of the information. A large share of the information is contained in this file was prepared by FhGS member Robert Leishman of Arvada. He developed a card file over a number of years that contains hundreds of references. A brief outline of the information found was included on these cards. The actual alphabetical card file is located in the Genealogy Department of the main Denver Public Library. The list of sources consulted for the file are located in the “File” notebook as are the Individual resource material acquired for the file by questionnaire or correspondence. The area codes are also located in the “File” notebook as well as the front of each drawer on the left hand side of the cabinet. |
