Discussion

There is no reason to think that Peter McManus immigrated to the US. The marriage of some of his children in Ireland makes it likely he stayed there. Still, a Peter McManus, a laborer, listed in the 1890 Philadelphia directory as living at 2839 E York. There's no such address on E York; for W York, it would be about 1.5 mile from Ralph Sullivan, father of Catherine, who married John Joseph Love, son of Patrick Love who married Susan McManus (i.e., Peter McManus is the grandfather of the husband of the daughter of Ralph Sullivan).

Catherine McManus (b. 1849) m. William Boland in 1870 in Ely, Fermanagh, Ireland.
A 2004 post identifies: Ellen Boland McCaffrey - who married James J. McCaffrey on October 30, 1904 - as daughter of Catherine McManus and William Boland. Catherine McManus was born about 1843, daughter of Peter McManus and Susan McGuire. Ellen Boland was the 8th child of 12 children; born 12/19/ 1876 in Monea, Enniskillen, County Fermanagh.
According to the 1862 Griffith's Valuation, John Boland and Patrick McManus were neighbors in Tullycreevy, both leasing land of John D. Brien, who also owned the land worked by John Love in Derryvarry Beg. Tullycreevy and Derryvary Beg are within two miles of each other. Also, John Keenan is located on John Brien's land in Randalshough, which is located slightly west of Derryvary Beg.
