Genealogy in French-Speaking Switzerland
It took 30 years to find the clue that led to the origins of my Swiss immigrant
ancestor, Jean Pierre Samuel MARCEL of Lausanne. After about 6 years
of research, I now have data on dozens of Swiss and French families.
I have assembled information here on methods and sources for research in
the French-speaking areas of Switzerland, along with some of the results
of my investigations.
Using Family Tree Maker, I compiled an "online book" that summarizes
many of the basic methods and sources, with detailed reports of my ancestral
families: Genealogy
in French-Speaking Switzerland: Families, Methods, and Sources
Items perpetually under construction:

not only is the web page under construction, but the family itself is still
being untangled. A partial inventory is available now. Dutoit (DuToict) Family of Moudon (Vaud, Switzerland)
Further, I now maintain a linked GED2HTML database containing nearly 4,000 individuals
connected in some way to the Dutoit family of Moudon: Dutoit Database
