A photographic portrait is known from the collection of David Babelay, Knoxville, Tennessee (cited in R�my Rochat, Notice historique sur la famille Rochat, 1980, Couchoud SA, Lausanne). While many of the Swiss emigrant to Knoxville were associated with the Elgise Libre in the canton of Vaud, it is still not clear how Auguste Rochat and his brother Charles are connected with the Rochat who settled in Knoxville. Ordained 1812, suffragant at Lignerolle 1812-1815, Roche 1821, Vevey 1821, pasteur at Bi�re 1822-1824, dismissed from the Eglise R�form�e. Joined the "R�veil", dissident pasteur at Rolle 1825-1847.

Ordained 1815, suffragant at Begnins 1815-1817, at Cuarnens 1819-1820, at Vevey 1820-1823. Dismissed, condemned to one year of banishment by the Tribunal d'appel 18 oct 1824, dissident pasteur at Vevey 1824-1838, except 1825-1830, when he was banished from the Canton of Vaud for three years, and lived in Paris and England. It is not entirely clear whether he had any children. The inventory of the collection PP 142 (Lo�c Rochat) at the Archives Cantonales Vaudoises (ACV) notes a son Alfred, whose guardian (presumably after the death of Charles in 1837) was Etienne Durand of Vevey. A section of PP 142 (items 842-872, and especially item 845) concerns the succession of the descendants of Jaques David Rochat, and especially that of his son Abram Elie Rochat, in the course of which is found information about Alfred.
