He left a bequest to his niece Andre Berger, daughter of his sister Collette Robert, in 1517, according to the genealogy of the Bgoz family prepared by Henri de Mandrot (Recueil des gnalogies vaudoises, 1912, but containing serious errors). De Mandrot calls this family Roberti, but at that period, Roberti was simply the Latin form of the surname Robert, cited in the area of Fchy as early as the end of the 15th Century. Michel came from Chtel, but was known at Fchy at least as early as 1482.
There is a potential problem wtih the dates and other aspects of the historical record. First, the date cited for the bequest to Andre Berger, 1517, could well be the date of a testament or a donation that does not reflect the actual, later date of death of Michel Robert. Michel himself seems to have survived at least until the Reformation, in 1536. He was certainly alive a few years earlier, when he held property described in the quernet ACV Fi 55. It is not out of the question, either, that this Michel, a priest, had one or more illegitimate children prior to the Reformation, or even that he married and had children after 1536. In that case, the present Michel could be the same Michel who was the father of Franois and his descendants who are found in the area in the next few generations. However, there is still no clear evidence to resolve this question.

He is the earliest of the Robert family mentioned in the extant terriers for Mont-le-Vieux (ACV Fi 85, commissaire Quisard, 1493). The preceding terrier, the "Grosse Balay" now at the AEF (1404) does not mention the Robert family, but family names were still unsettled at that period.
There is also a reconnaissance in ACV Fj 69, fol. 255, dated 12 apr 1464, for Johannes filius quondam Petri Roberti alias Fabri de Chastel, for himself and his unnamed siblings (nomine suo et fratrum suorum), for property at Gimel. One of the witnesses for this document was Discretus Aymonetus Roberti (elsewhere he is cited as a citizen of Rolle), presumably a notary and a relative.
The earliest mentions of a Robert family in the area appear to be at Bire. In Fh 107, section C, apparently dating from 1377, there are mentions first (fol. 5) of Henricus Roberti faber de Beria and burgensis Albonna, then of his widow Perroneta and his children Vulliermus (also a faber, apparently at Aubonne?), Alexia, and Henrieta. It is to be noted that the Robert family at Chastel, or some of them, also followed the occupation of faber (blacksmith). By 1379 (also in Fh 107), there is a Petrus Roberti at Aubonne. It is very likely that all of these individuals belong to the same family, but the connections have not been found.
He had property at Payerne 1521-1522. Name is given in the published de Treytorrens genealogy as Roberti, but this is from Latin documents, and as there do not seem to be other "Roberti" at Morges, we are inclined to regard him as a member of the Robert family of Fchy etc. However, we are also inclined to regard the whole lineage of the "Roberti" family connected to the de Treytorrens genealogy with skepticism, because other documents say it was Pierre Reynaulti, not Roberti, who was the father-in-law of Antoine Mottet or Moctet.
In any case, Pierre Robert, notary of Payerne, was definitely the father of Jean Robert, one of the monks of the Abbey of Payerne at the time of its dissolution in 1536, later a resident of Fribourg.
The second item in the surviving register of the notary Pierre Gachet of Payerne (ACV Dp 43, fol. 1), dated 24 feb 1504, though bady stained and partly illegible, concerns a dispute about the succession of Petrus Roberti. The brothers Johannes and Georgius de Rippa, guardians of Claudia and Stephanus, children of the said Petrus Roberti by his late first wife Margareta, argue that some property of the estate came from Marguereta, while Petrus de Espagniaco, representing (or possibly the present husband of) the widow, Janna, the second wife of the deceased Petrus Roberti, argues that the property came from the second marriage. There was presumably a connection between the de Rippa brothers and the first wife, Marguereta, but if it was stated, the reference is now obscured by the condition of the paper. In any event, the document provides evidence for two wives of Petrus Roberti, but does not tell us which one was the mother of the monk Johannes Roberti.
Father is listed as Pierre Jaques Robert de Feschi, witness was Pierre Valier secrtaire de la Baronnie d'Aulbonne.

Appears as witness at baptism of Pierre Moret, 19 jan 1673, in Lausanne. In the late 1630's, he seems to have lived at Fchy, as mentioned in a document of H. Galliard, notary in that area. It appears he is the same person as the Jean Jaques Robert or Jaques Robert recorded in the church and notarial records of Morges, though more investigation is needed on this point. The church records of Morges are incomplete and sloppy in this era, and the names of the wives seldom appear. His parentage is given in land records, such as a terrier of Aubonne (ACV Fh 179, fol. 25v), 08 may 1658.
[14583] Groom is son of late Gamaliel Robert bourgeois d'Aulbonne, bride is daughter of Elise Glieu minister at Onnens.
