Clearly identified in the family book of Niklaus Gatschet as his "sister", wife of Johann (Hans) Brunner of Bern, architect. She was present at the wedding of Niklaus in 1559, and on that occasion she presented him with "ein guldiger Ring mit einem Totenk�pfli" (a golden ring with a little skull), apparently a very fashionable accessory in those days, when the Reformation was still new. Maria, the daughter of Niklaus, later lived with the Brunner family for a time.
Her testament of 05 jan 1573 mentions children of her late brother Hans Noll, children of her sister Elsbeth Noll by her first husband, and a number of other relatives, thus clarifying many relationships implied in other sources.

Source for the genealogy of the Noll family is the von Roth dossiers at the Burgerbibliothek of Bern, Mss. h. h. Vlll 20, supplemented by church records and information gleaned from testaments of relatives. Peter Noll came from the German Palatinate and was one of a small group of master glass painters that developed in Bern from about 1450. A parchment copy of his marriage contract with the widow Adelheid Remund, dated 15 aug 1543, has turned up as the binding for an abstract of feudal taxes for the village of R�egsau, Trachselwald (inventory on the web site of the Staatsarchiv des Kantons Bern).
