Bk 1, #497: Ordered that Letters of Administration on the Estate of Robert Lewis, deceased, issue to Martha Lewis and David Rea, Administratrix & Administrator who comes into Court and Qualifies and enters into Bond (with) Samuel Flenniken and James Osborn (who) were Bound in the Sum of 600 pounds.
1795. July Session. Bk 3, #244: A final settlement of the Estate of Robert Lewis, deceased, by which it appears the administrators have fully administered and settled with the Legatees. (See the Settlement).
In consequence of a situation and Refusal to attend on the same and a Warrant from this Court to compel the appearance of Robert Lewis and Martha his wife other Securities on their Administration of the John Rea deceased Estate by Information made to this Court is likely to be embezled.
[5251] Thoroman genealogy, p. 25, has 1857, but census and birthdate of his brother indicate this is in error. Read 1858 or possibly 1859.

Also in same cemetery, Ada B. Lewis 1886-1972, perhaps the wife of V. E., and possibly sons Wendell Oren Lewis 1915 and Glen Lewis 1907- . Lena b. 1906 may be the wife of Glen Lewis, or a sister of these.

Apparently this is the same person as Stephen V. Lewis listed on the 1880 census. In 1860, he is listed as S. A., and in 1870 as Vernon D.

If the Burnand genealogy is correct, he was his wife's first cousin. By the time they were married, probably about 1860, the prohibitions against the marriage of first cousins seem to have been long forgotten.
