The Fosse (or occasionally Foss�) family at Roquecourbe seems to be distinct from the Fos or de Fos family at Castres, even though the surnames listed for women in this area are often feminized, so that a woman named Marie, daughter of Jean Fos, would often be listed as Marie Fosse. In Roquecourbe, however, we find a Marie daughter of Abraham Fosse and Marie Fosse baptised 21 nov 1632, plausibly the same Marie who married Jean Scal� in 1661, his second wife.
