His obituary was published in the Chehalis Bee-Nugget, 12 oct 1934: "F. J. FitzPatrick Drops Dead. Friday Morning Francis J. FitzPatrick, 50, who had been engaged in the photographic business in Chehalis the past four years, since coming from Snohomish, died suddenly from a stroke at his Main street home early Friday morning. A week previously he had a light attack, but his condition had not been considered serious. Mr. FitzPatrick was born in Houston, Texas, November 27, 1883. He had traveled extensively in the Orient, having spent some time in China and other countries. Mr. and Mrs. FitzPatrick had made many friends since coming here. Surviving relatives are the widow, Mrs. Eva FitzPatrick; two sisters, Mrs. Ellen Miles, of Longmire Springs and Mrs. Claude Brown of Compton, Calif.; and two brothers. C. E. FitzPatrick of Los Angeles and F. L. FitzPatrick of Roseburg, Ore. Funeral services were held under Christian Science auspices at the Boone Mortuary Tuesday afternoon. The body was taken to South Tacoma for cremation." The same newspaper noted his arrival in Chehalis in the edition of 28 mar 1930: "Fitzpatrick Camera Shop Opened Here. F. J. Fitzpatrick and family, late of Snohomish, have moved to Chehalis and leased quarters in the Brunswig block, Park and Chehalis, and will open Fitzpatrick's Camera Shop, specializing in commercial photography, and carrying Eastman and Ansco kodaks and cameras, and films. Mr. and Mrs. Fitzpatrick have had several years of experience in this work. During the winter they visited Chehalis and were so much pleased with Chehalis as a good home town and business center that they decided to move here. Just to demonstrate their faith in Chehalis as their future permanent home, Mr. and Mrs. Fitzgerald this week purchased through the A. E. Judd agency, the C. E. Farr property on Washington avenue."
