Exactly what the surname should be has not been resolved. The marriage record says de Montay, the baptism of their child says du Montay, and there are several references in the death records at Geneva for Dumontay. A detailed examination of the registers of St. Pierre, where the known family events were recorded, has not been completed.

Notary and bourgeois of Cully, according to a document recorded by Claude de Place (ACV DI 48/10, 24 may 1579). He was still alive in 1572, when he was sometimes identified as Jean DuMur the elder.
By 1584, Jean DuMur the younger, probably a nephew of the present Jean, had become Jean DuMur the elder, as his own nephew in turn became the next Jean DuMur the younger. The elder died in 1584, and his nephew, son of Henri DuMur, recorded the event in a short account of his life and times that was published at the suggestion of his descendants in 1917 (Maxime Reymond, "La chronique de Jehan DuMur", Revue historique vaudoise, 25:271-286).
According to Olivier Clottu, she was one of the 4 heirs of Denise Regnauld who sold the rights to the fief of Bellevaux (Neuchâtel) to Capitaine Simon Ballanche in November 1594. The other heirs were Jean Muriset, the heirs of Petterman Gachet, and Josué Gachet. Clottu gives a citation to Boyve's Annales, vol. 2, p. 330.

The marriage to Andrée Gervaix has not been located, nor have the baptisms of some of the children. He might be the same Bernard Dunant who baptised a daughter Ursule at Nyon 06 jun 1591, in which case the parentage of his daughters Elizabeth and Jaquemine is in doubt.
Very possibly a daughter or sibling of the Estienne Dunant who married Nicolarde Fillon before 1610, as this would match the given names of the first two known children of Elizabeth. However, it seems even more likely that she is another daughter of Bernard Dunant, so that Reverdil brothers married Dunant sisters 1630-1631.

The record of his marriage, including his parentage, is in the collection of the Société de l'Histoire du Protestantisme Français ( MSS CP15, Registre des mariages à Paris, 1793-1814, page 236, acte 496). At the time, he was a négociant at Lyon. The index card posted on the internet by the Archives de Paris (index to the reconstructed Etat Civil) gives his family name as Dumant instead of Dunant.
