Noted as the "belle-fille" of Estienne Mayor at a baptism in Ballens, 1610. Since Estienne Mayor and Esther Tripod, widow of Josu� DuMeurier, were married in 1599, they could not have had a "daughter-in-law", who in any case would have been a Mayor, not a DuMeurier. Thus, "belle-fille" must be interpreted here as "stepdaughter". In this record, the surname is spelled DuMourier, clarifying the uncertain spelling of the name of Esther's first husband that is found in her marriage contract with Estienne Mayor.

The surname appears in the 1599 contract of marriage between Estienne Mayor and Esther Tripod. The spelling is problematic, perhaps du Moryer and du Morier, but possibly du Mercier. The correct reading is clarified by the discovery of a daughter Jeanne DuMourier at a baptism in 1610. The pastor at that date wrote more clearly, but tended to put extra vowels in many names (e.g., Majour for Mayor). The clearest reading, entirely consistent in usage, is in the registers of Yens, where it is DuMeurier. Possibly of Grandson.
The name of her father is found in family records, matching the baptismal record. There are no other mentions of Dessibor at Grandson. Family records give his origin as Villars-en-Vully, where this name is fairly common.
His genealogy is given by Jacques Augustin Galiffe, Notices G�n�alogiques 2:320 (1831). He was pasteur at Ressudens 1676, at Morat 1678, and a Motier (Fribourg) 1688.
