The terrier ACV Fn 343 paraphrases a previous "reconnaissance" from a terrier compiled by Fran�ois Collon, probably about 1540, by "by honneste Pierre de Mont bourgeois de Mouldon comme ususfructuayre des biens de Guilliermette sa femme et comme gouverneur des enfans de feuz Jehan Demont son frere et de Magdelleyne sa femme" (Fn 343, fol. 448v, 19 jun 1593). This passage helps identify Jean Demont.

His records, both in Latin and French (ACV DL 33, 1517-1561), are on FHL microfilm numbers 0922315-0922317. In spite of many clues suggesting a close relationship between the Demont and Dutoit families, no direct connection has yet been discovered. It has not yet been established which children belong to which wife, but it may be that the daughters named in his testament (cited in a document of Jean Jaquier, notary at Moudon, ACV DL 53/1 fol. 162v, dated 09 aug 1566) are those of his second marriage, to Catherine Frossard.
