This surname is spelled many ways in the early records: Diament, Dimon, Dymon, Dyment,Diment, Denning, etc. I have added this couple to my database on the strength of the early Long Island records.
There are many references to this family online (RootsWeb World Connect) showing connections to some very well known New England families: Bulkeley, Irby, Ingoldsby, Grovenor and Manwaring.

Thomas Diment and Thomas Diament, Jun. were named in the 1675 census for the town of East Hampton. Info found on CD Genealogy & History of Southold, Long Island, New York. (Another CD from Genealogy CDs.com, 2003). This may or may not be the same person but, for now, I'm keeping this fact on file. (June 28, 2007)
Name attested in various documents of Jaques Crausaz, but published genealogy calls him Jean. However, a document recorded by Eg. Isaac Dutoit 03 apr 1693 appears to call him Abraham Demierre.

She appears in 1649 as a sponsor at a baptism, and so had probably reached the age of 15 (first communion) by that date. The first appearance of a young woman as a sponsor at a baptism requires that she has been confirmed in the church, and further, is often a signal that her family is trying to find a husband for her.
Circumstantial evidence suggests she may be the Anne Demont who married Moyse DuPerron. The circumstances are:
She seems to be about the right age. The wife of Moyse DuPerron would have been born no earlier than 1627 (last child born in 1672), and probably no later than 1634 (based on date of marriage). The daughter of Guillaume Demont, apparently reaching the age of first communion in 1649 or a little before, would have been about the same age.
Her mother's step-father Pierre J�nin published almanacs from at least 1609 to 1641, and her grandmother Anne Malingre continued this business along with Jean Poitevin, probably Anne's uncle.
Moyse DuPerron's son and son-in-law also published almanacs. This was a highly specialized business; only a few in the Pays de Vaud pursued this trade in the 17th Century.
In 1540 (ACV Aa 12/5, no. 1265), he was a "pr�dicant" or minister at Granges-pr�s-Payerne (this document calls him Daniel du Mont). His wife at that time was Benoite du Ruz. By 1576 (ACV Fm 4bis, fol. 1), he had died and his daughter Jeanne had married Michel de Trey of Payerne (in this document he is the late Daniel de Mont, formerly minister at Payerne). He does not appear on the lists of ministers in the valley of the Broye compiled by Henri Vuilleumier, nor have we found any other published reference to his existence. He is in the list for the "taille" of 1550 (ACV Bp 14/1, "Livre du Taux & Giette de la Ville de Moudon l�an 1550"), however, in the entry for the village of Granges: "Maistre Daniel du Mont du temps de ladicte composition ministre dudict lieu maintenant ministre d�Avenche n�a riens poy� pource � cause de ce se dict bourgeoys de Payerne pretende en doibje estre exempt." In other words, he was still minister at Granges when the tax was imposed, but by the time the list was compiled he had become the minister at Avenches. He was, according to this source, a citizen of Payerne. The "taille" was a special and very peculiar tax imposed by Their Excellencies of Bern on their citizens who had been subjects of Savoye, in order to extinguish a debt claimed by Savoye as a result of Bern's invasion of the Pays de Vaud in 1536.
Additional citations are found — some under Demont, others under Dumont — in the "Fichier des pasteurs" at the ACV. One of these, citing the accounts of a place apparently abbreviated as Bge. de Lus., indicates that he began his ministry at Granges on the Sunday after Ste. Luce, 1537 (the festival of Saint Lucia is December 13, so the date is presumably 16 dec 1537). Additional references from the "Fichiers" point to the registers of the notary Aym� Chuard (ACV Dp 15, plus one stray register catalogued as Dp 109/2), where we find the contract dated 15 feb 1542 for his second marriage, to Anne daughter of Claude Michiez the younger of Corcelles, widow of the late notary Jean Banquetaz of Payerne (the citation says register 16/2 fol. 19, but from the description, it must be ACV Dp 15/2 instead). He is called "Frere Danyel", pr�dicant de Granges, in a transaction recorded by Pierre Chuard, father of Aym� (Dp 16/3, fol. 322v, dated 19 apr 1543). Additional mentions in the registers of Aym� Chuard place "maitre Daniel" at Granges as late as 1556. The "Fichier des pasteurs" also reveals that he had a daughter Claudine whose marriage to Nicod Moratel of Payerne was recorded at Granges (celebrated at S�deilles) in 1569. As noted above, Daniel had just left Granges for Avenches around the end of 1550, but he must have returned, or else he had a dual appointment (perhaps deacon at Avenches plus pasteur at Granges), for Aym� Chuard still places him at Granges as late as 1556. The Manual de Conseil of Payerne for the years 1554-1572 mentions him several times. He began his tenure as pasteur 22 mar 1559 (fol. 119) and was still there 14 mar 1563) fol. 171v). Daniel was still the minister at Payerne as late as 11 feb 1567, when he is mentioned in this capacity in ACV Bb 30/5, p. 312. He had died by 1569, as noted in the marriage of his daughter Claudine. It is not yet certain which of Daniel's wives was the mother of Claudine, but since the marriage contract of Jeanne lists Pierre du Ru as her next of kin on her mother's side (prochain parent maternel), it follows that Jeanne must have been the daughter of Daniel de Mont's first wife (marriage contract recorded 20 may 1568, Benoit Nible, notary, ACV Dp 73/2, fol. 308).
There are several additional mentions of him in the registers of the notary Aim� Chuard (ACV Dp 15 and Dp 109/2). On one occasion (Dp 15/3, fol. 36, dated 23 may 1545, he is stated to be a native of the "city of Sens" (in the modern D�partement d'Yonne, France). This information represents a huge increase in our knowledge of the protestants of Sens, site of many troubles during the Wars of Religion, but for which almost no documentation remains.
Not mentioned in the settlement among the heirs of Guillaume Demont (ACV DL 45/1, dated 03 oct 1672), so probably dead without children before that date.
