Family members were interred in the family vault on the property originally belonging to Dr. Isaac Ward Clary. Temple Bros. were to install a piece of marble over the door, plus 7 markers for individual family members.
Later, when the property was sold, remains were moved to Old Hartford Cemetery.

[10363] The records about this child are confusing and need to be explored further. Dickinson genealogy shows birth in 1824 and death in 1856. I believe this is in error and the Elizabeth Clary who died in that year was Elizabeth (Day) Clary, whose death date was given as 1856 in the same genealogy.
LDS/IGI shows birth in 1823 and death in 1825. The mortality schedule included in the 1825 NY state census shows a death in the family in 1824. Presumably this was a female child. Need to check that record again.

[10345] Perhaps, like his father and brother, Isaac may have trained to be a doctor, but later switched to farming.
[10332] In the 1820 census we find Isaac B. Clary in Hartford, Washington Co, NY as head of household, aged 22-44, with his wife's age the same. Their family consisted of two males and one female under 10 years of age. Children would have been Harriet, age 5, Charles, age 2 and Samuel, age 1.
[10335] Family in this census would have been Isaac B. Clary and sons Samuel, Charles and Isaac. Females would have been Elizabeth and daughters Harriet and another, whose name we do not have. The child, Elizabeth, died ca 1824; Mary and Sarah E. had not been born. Also in this census data included number of males subject to militia (1) and number of males qualified to vote (also 1). Number of acres: 65; cattle owned:3; horses:3; hogs:33; and yards of cloth manufactured in household.
Family data shows Isaac, head of household, aged 26-44, with his wife in the same age group. Children: two males and 1 female under ten years of age. Harriet would have been 5 years old, Charles, age two and Samuel, age 1.
Census shows 4 males, 3 females; 1 male subject to militia and 1 male qualified to vote. Property consisted of 65 acres. Family owned 3 cattle, 3 horses and 33 hogs. Yards of cloth manufactured in the domestic way, in the same family during the preceeding year: 11. Flannel and other woolen cloth not fulled: 40 yards.
[10334] This was a very interesting census which I copied many years ago and did not record the film number. I believe I found this at a Family History Library. Eunice Clary lived nextdoor on what was probably her dower land but acreage not given. She also had cattle (number in question), a horse and 11 hogs. Manufactured 55 yards of cloth.
Isaac B. Clary and Elizabeth, his wife, Joseph W. Clary and Lucy, his wife, Harlow Witherall & Elmira, his wife, Roxy L. Clary & Eunice Clary (dau. of Isaac W.) sold a parcel of land in Hartford for $2475 (previously Lot #75 of the Provincial Patent) to Richard Sill, containing 103 acres, 3/4 and 23 rods of land; Also town lot #65 (Hartford) containing 4+ acres. (Note: this was the land mentioned in the will of Isaac W. Clary).
[10337] There are other deeds between 1828 and 1832 when Isaac B. and family sold out in Hartford and apparently moved to Onondaga Co., NY.
Isaac B. Clary and Elizabeth, his wife, of Hartford, Washington Co, NY of the first part and Edward Bulkley of Granville, Washington Co, NY of the second part....128 acres, previously sold by Slade Brown to Edward Bulkley. Part of lot number 76 in town of Hartford....Document was recorded on 30 March 1829.
Isaac B. Clary's family consisted of one male 40-49; 1 male 5-9; 2 males 10-14; Elizabeth was aged 30-39; 2 females 0-4; 1 female 10-14; and 1 female 15-19. Isaac was 40-49 and his wife was 30-39.
[10340] This reading shows four females under 20: Sarah, age 1; Mary, age 4; Harriet, age 15. There is one female child in the 10-14 age range who must be the missing daughter whose name we do not have. According to my great-grandmother's bible, she was the 5th daughter of Isaac and Elizabeth Clary. We know that the child Elizabeth died young (ca 1824). Did the other girl also die young? No information has ever surfaced.
Isaac B. Clary and Betsey, his wife, sold 128 acres to Jonathan Allen of Hebron. Land formerly owned by Edward Buckley. See Bk GG, pp 185-186.
Isaac B. Clarey, should have been in the 50-60 column. Number of sons recorded indicates that one of them had left home. Charles would have been 22, Samuel 21; Isaac, 18. Daughters, Elizabeth was deceased early; in this census Mary would have been 14 and Sarah E., age 11.
[10343] Note spelling of surname in this census. Isaac's cousins, Elihu, Lyman and David also resided in Salina.
Doctor Baldwin Klery, of Hartford, and Elizabeth Dey, of Cambridge, were married 17 Sep. 1812.

[10361] Dickinson genealogy shows death date for Isaac and his brother, Samuel, on the same date in 1847. However, Isaac was enumerated in the 1850 census in Columbia, Maury Co., TN, with his occupation listed as "medical student".
Supposedly an Army physician, it seemed likely that Isaac may have lived long enough to serve in the Civil War. However, a search of the records at the National Archives was negative. Both Confederate and Union indexes were searched.

Name written "I. Ward Clary" in the Franklin Co. records
Census for town of Westfield, NY shows one Isaac McClury. One of many spellings of his name in the early records. Hartford, NY was formed from Westfield (now Fort Ann) in March 1793.
On a list of admissions to the medical society in 1807 was one Isaac W. McLeary. I feel sure this is our Isaac Ward Clary. In the early records of Washington Co., NY this surname was spelled in a variety of ways....McClary, McClurry, Cleary, Clarry, etc.
Dr. Clary, who built the brick house south of the village in 1805, was the Town's first Doctor. His practice was taken over by his son-in-law, Dr. Richard Sill who had a long and beneficial practice. The home is now owned by the Robert Davenport family.
[10503] Somewhere I have a photo of this house which was supposedly the first brick house built in that area.
The name of Isaac W. Clary does not show in the index for Washington Co, NY online. Instead I located him by using the name of Zachariah Sill, a neighbor I knew also lived in Hartford. In the census taker's handwriting the name appears to be "Clarn".
[10505] Need to locate old 1810 census form to help figure out the ages of the children. Males: _ _ 1_ 1; Females: _ 1 3 _ 1. This would probably be Isaac B. still at home, along with his father; daughters: Roxanne, Eunice, Elmira and Electa. Also, wife, Eunice.
Legal organization of the First Congregational Church took place in 1810. No extant records for years 1810-1830. Information was obtained from Chrisfield Johnson's History of Washington Co., NY.
Name spelled "Clarry" in this census. Aside from Isaac, head of household, there were four females. One would have been Eunice, his wife, and two unmarried daughters: Roxanne and Eunice. Perhaps the other female was a servant?
[10509] Need to look at this again. Age categories on my old census forms differ from what is shown on line. Some of these old films are extremely difficult to read.
Moore's book incorrectly gives death date for Isaac W. Clary as 5 Apr. 1821. Dr. Clary's will was dated 1822 and he died on 15 Apr. 1824.
Tombstone inscription reads: "Doct. Isaac W. Clary died Apr. 15, 1824 in the 64th year of his life. Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord."
Wrong date and place of death given in this genealogy. Records for Huron Co., OH were searched and it was a different Isaac Clary who died there.
Will dtd 1824, Bk 3, Pg 58: Copy of the last will land testament of Isaac W. Clary late of Hartford, dec'd. Recorded at Granville, NY, 7 June 1824.
Married Eunice Langdon, widow of Capt. Isaac Baldwin. (Date and place of marriage unknown, but probably in MA).

[15218] On the internet there are several references to Sarah Cady's marriage to a Thomas Woodcock and she may have had a daughter by him before her marriage to John Clary in 1643/4. See Clary & Allied Family notebook
John Clary, the immigrant ancestor, was born in England and settled early in Watertown, MA. He deposed July 10, 1672, that he was sixty years old.
This indenture made the 14th day of Dec., AD 1667, between John Clary, Sr., of Watertown in the county of Middlesex, carpenter, on ye one part and Nicholas Cady, carpenter, of the same town on the other part, witnesseth: That said J. Clary in consideration of any exchange of a certain house and land lying being in Twp of Watertown to him in hand paid by ye said N. Cady at the sealing and delivery of this whereof ye said Clary doth acknowlege the receipt and himself therewith fully satisfied and paid thereof doth fully and absolutely acquit the said N. Cady, his heirs, executors and administrators, etc. (See full text in person scrapbook).
13 Sep. 1670, John Clary, Jr. sold to Joseph Wellington ____ acres of land formerly of Nicholas Cady of Groton. Witnesses: John Clary, Sr., and Sarah Clary.
John Clary, late of Hadley, by Will without date, proved 31 May 1691....mentions son-in-law, John Perry and his wife, Sarah, and grandchild John Perry. Also his brother, Joseph.
John Clary married Sarah Cady, (whose surname has been reported by various researchers as Caddett, Coffell, Cassell & Ceddell). Despite the variation of names this was probably one single woman by the name of Cady.
[11760] Like his father, John Clary was a miller. He was a grantee of Northfield in 1682, built a mill in 1685.
[11759] John Clary was killed by the Indians on 16 Aug. 1688, along with his daughter, Sarah, and several others. His widow, Hannah, later married Enos Kingsley of Northampton.
Birthdate is estimated. Birth record not found in early Watertown vital records.
