According to Frederick A. Virkus in "Compendium of American Genealogy", Vol. 4, pg 655: Moses Bowen (desc. from Evan ap Owen of Pentoc, Wales and was the first to assume the name Bowen); settled in PA ca 1698; married Rebecca Reese.
They were undoubtedly married in Wales and may have been in the party who came on the "Lyon", John Compton, master, with Dr. Edward Jones party, in 1682.
This date may be incorrect. On pg 367 of Kegley's Virginia Frontier there is mention of Moses Bowen who died in 1761 from wounds suffered in the French & Indian Wars. He was of age at the time and his mother administered his estate. Records need to be checked.

Jonas Bower, who married Thomas Hildreth's widow, left a will dated 13 November 1670, proved 6 June 1671 (New York County Wills 1:159; WNYHS 1:22) mentioning sons Joseph, James, Jonathan, Jonah and Isaac. The will of Jonah Bower, dated 9 May 1708, proved 17 November 1709 (New York County Wills 7:560; WNYHS 2:33) mentions brother Isaac Bower, but there is evidence Jonah Bower and Joseph Hildreth were half-brothers, sons of Hannah ( -- ) (Hildreth) Bower.....
His will, naming his wife Hannah, is dated 13 Nov. 1670, proved 6 June 1671. (NY wills, 1:22) The wife Hannah, quite certainly a second wife, was widow of Thomas Hildreth who died at Southampton prior to 6 Oct. 1657....
Jonas Bower, 13 Nov. 1670, wills to wife, Hannah, and children: Joseph, James, Jonathan & Jonah (not of age) and Isaac. Proved 6 June 1671.
Her middle initial appears in the deed when she and Reuben P. Smith sell his homestead land. The marriage certificate notes that an affidavit establishing legal age was filed with the Alameda County Clerk, but this affidavit has not been located. She was most likely a widow with children, because Reuben's homestead application indicates he had been living on the land with a "wife and children" when he completed his residency requirement in 1873. No further record.
