Now that we are at the end of high school,
I have been paying more attention to creating a transcript and
assessing grades. I want to make sure that I have covered
the basics and provided a transcript that most colleges will
accept. If you need help with credit hours and the basics of
a transcript, see this file first: HEO Credit Hours
Another really good article is this
one published by The Old Schoolhouse Magazine. Eclectic
Homeschool Online has a page that tells you how to create a
transcript. They also have a sample
here and one that you can
fill out in your browser and print.
If you would like to use a software program other
than Word or Excel, consider: EdPlus
or Transcripts Made
Easy. HomeSchool Tracker
Plus also provides grades and a finished transcript.
Here are a few transcripts I like. Feel free
to download the samples linked below:

has the best selection of transcript forms and other record
keeping materials on the web. And they are FREE!
Our High School Transcript
My son has decided on the college he would like to
attend. They have no special requirements for home schoolers,
but do ask that you prepare a document that explains to them how
you have home educated. I have created a small portfolio to
go along with the following documents:
-
Narrative
Evaluation - Assessment along with a list of courses and
their credit values
-
Book List
- Includes all the HEO books we have read along with other
books
-
Traditional
Transcript - a concise summary in a format most colleges
expect to see
