Deceased Well Known In Scholastic Circles Over County The Hugo Daily News

Ferman Lefevers, 28, was buried in Mount Olivet Cemetery this afternoon following services which were held at the First Baptist church here. Mr. Lefevers died in a Durant hospital following a long illness, Thursday afternoon. The deceased was well known in scholastic and athletic circles in the state. While attending school at the Southeastern State Teachers college he starred in basketball and was all-state center one year in the collegiate circles. He then came to Choctaw County where he began teaching at Grant. At that school he coached several basketball teams which gained state recognition. He was also a member of the independent Hugo Daily News basketball team of 1929-30, which played games throughout Texas and Oklahoma. He is survived by his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Isom Lefevers, his widow and one child.
