MRS. JAMES L. JOHNSON
Kirkersville - Mrs. Emma M. Johnson, 75, widow of James L. Johnson, resident of Kirkersville 50 years, died at 7:45 p.m. Friday in her home. While she had been in failing health, she was stricken suddenly and a physician was summoned, but she died in a short time.
A lifelong resident of Harrison Township, she was born May 27, 1885, the daughter of John D. and Harriett Ann (Adair) Spellman. Her husband preceded her in death in 1949, and surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Russell Wiswell of the home and a son, James Roland Johnson, northwest of Kirkersville; also two grandsons and a brother, Warner Spellman of Newark.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Methodist Church in Kirkersville of which she was a member. The Rev. R. C. Kasunic will officiate and burial will be in Kirkersville Cemetery. Friends may call at the Emerson Funeral Home after 7 p.m. Saturday and the body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m.
