LT. F. D. HARROD
LOST LIFE IN 1944
Final rites for Lt. Franklin Dick Harrod, 20, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank L. Harod (sic), Route 2, Lafayette, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Davis-Miller and Son Cathedral Chapel. Lt. Harrold was killed in action over England Dec. 24, 1944, when his plane was forced down returning from participating in the Battle of the Bulge.
Lt. Harrod was graduated from Harrod high school and was a member of the Eighth Air Force Bombardier squadron.
He is survived by his parents and a sister, Mrs. Harold Williams, Westminster.
The body will arrive in Lima Monday noon and be removed to the funeral home, The Rev. Gilbert Reichert, Westminster, will officiate and burial will be in Salem cemetery, near Westminster.
