Arthur Brockman
Funeral services for Arthur Brockman, age 66, were held at the home Thursday,
December 18 at 2 o'clock p.m. with the Rev. D. L. Druien in charge. Burial was
in Brookside Cemetery. Mr. Brockman, son of the late Jasper and Rachel
Brockman, was a native of this county. He died at his home here Tuesday,
December 16 at 3:30 p.m. He had been in ill health for some 9 years. He
professed faith in Christ at an early age in life and was a member of the
Liberty Baptist Church. He united in marriage to Miss Lillie Wise in 1904 and
to this union 4 sons and 3 daughters were born. Surviving are: Hubert, Ray and
Layfayette Brockman and Margaret Holt, all of this county, Mrs. Doc Bean of
Russell County. One sister, Mrs. J. S. Hall, of Spurlington and 3 half-sisters,
Mrs. Charlie Williams and Mrs. Jim Allen, both of this county, Mrs. Maud Jones
of Mason City, Ill., 3 grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were: Judge Walter Wise, Marvin Wise, Oliver Wise, Nathan McCubbin,
Frank Edelen, and Sherman Wooley.
