HAROLD WAYNE "BEETLE" BAILEY, 62, died at 12:04 a.m. Feb. 17. 2007, at Lima
Memorial Health System.
He was born March 22, 1944, in Alger, to the Rev. Cassel and Martha Bailey. On
Oct. 30, 1965, he married Twyla Carmean, who survives.
Mr. Bailey was a semi-truck driver for Schaffer. He worked with group homes for
the mentally retarded and was an Army veteran having served as a Vietnam combat
medic. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and
was an elder in the church. He was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America
Chapter 89, American Legion Post 96, and the McGuffey Fishing Club. He enjoyed
traveling in the motor home, hunting, fishing, gardening and the great outdoors.
He also enjoyed his free time, and talking on the C.B. radio where he was known
as W.W. He loved life and had the ability to make others love him like they were
his family. His generosity and kind heart were an inspiration to his family. He
lived his life with integrity and bravery. He will be dearly missed by his
family and friends.
Survivors include a son Harold W. (Stacy) Bailey Jr. of Lima; four daughters,
Tamera Parr Ramirez of Tampa, Fla.; and Susan Flora (Justin) Burkholder, Rita
(Rachelle Miller) Wedhorn and Martha (Troy) Arnett, all of Lima; two sisters,
Alice Faye (Ron) Gilroy of Lima and Rella (Don) Michaels of South Carolina; 17
grandchildren, George, Eugene and LaTasha Grimes; Donald, Heather and Tony
Flora, Mark, Derrick, Morgan, Angelina and Harold Bailey III, Eli Westfall, Jon
Wedhorn, Jesse and Bailey Miller and Kayla and Kamrin Arnett; four
great-grandchildren; and numerous close friends.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Aldren R. Bailey; and a son, Dennis Byron
Bailey Cockren.
Services will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Chiles-Laman Lewis Eastside Chapel.
The Rev. Tommy Campbell will officiate.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home where
military rites will be performed by VFW post 1275.
