GRAY-BEST WEDDING: "To be or not to be", the question most young people ask when the all-important question of marriage is raised, was settled in the affirmative on Tuesday evening, August 15th, at the residence of Samuel Best, Sr., of Sutter County, when Rev. C. E. Rich united in holy wedlock our young friend Samuel Gray and Miss Ida Best in the presence of a large company of friends and relatives. The fair young bride was richly dressed in white silk with a coiffure decorated with orange blossoms.
Miss Louisa Best, a sister of the bride, acted as bridesmaid, and T. J. Hutchinson, of Santa Rosa, officiated as groomsman. The wedding march was played by Miss Zella King of Wheatland, rendering the Cedar Vale march in a most pleasing manner as the contracting parties entered the handsomely decorated assembly room. A beautiful wedding supper followed the ceremony. After supper the gathering engaged in social enjoyment until about midnight when the happy bride and groom departed for Marysville to catch the train for San Francisco, and the guests returned to their homes, well pleased with their evening's entertainment.
