Wedding reception: The Best-Kirk wedding on Thursday evening of last week was largely attended and was quite a social event. Rev D. T. Belvel performed the ceremony, after which the guests partook of a wedding supper, which was grand as far as the culinary arts were concerned. The bridesmaid was Miss Nannie Guinn of Woodland, and the groomsman was Allen Clare of Colusa county. The following evening after the wedding a reception was given at the residence of the groom's father, Henry Best, where a merry crowd of relatives and friends assembled and greeted the happy couple. The evening was pleasantly spent in various social amusements and there was an abundance of good things to satisfy the wants of the inner man. Mr. and Mrs. Best have the congratulations and good wishes of all in their future life. They were the recipients of many beautiful presents. Article courtesy of Charles I. Davis
