Thomas Berryman was my g-g-g-grandfather. He was sentenced to death for his part in an armed robbery in 1833, then had his sentence commuted to transportation for life. He arrived in Sydney, Australia on the convict ship LLOYDS on 18 December 1833. He eventually settled in the Paterson/Dungog/Brookfield area of New South Wales, just north of Maitland.
