Teacher: Lois M(ay) Purdy (assisted by her  
sister, Harriet M(argaret) ["Hattie"] Purdy)

    Lois  Purdy, (1904-1979) and her  sister Harriet describing 
their experience teaching at Pearl Creek School, S.D. No. 1048, 
from May to December 1924, as well as a small collection
of letters written to them the next year by former  pupils.
Actually, Lois was the teacher; her older sister Hattie came to
keep her company and assist. A third sister, Muriel, visited
and took pictures - at least I think she was the photographer.
These include outside views of the school
 - one from a distance, pictures of Lois and Hattie
 in the teacherage doorway, one of Lois at her desk,
 and two group pictures of pupils in attendance, one
 of which was taken at a school picnic. Pupils are not
 individually identified, but their names appear in
 the letters.

    Pupils are not individually identified in the photos, but surnames  
mentioned in one of the letters are: Meyer, Lang, Thomas,  
Litzenberger, Gorecki, Goveronski, Zaleski, Zimmer, Lipinski,  
Willidol, Hoffman, Haas, Welz and Rutherford.
There were 4 Lizzies, 3 Katies, 3 Evas, 2 Tinas, 2 Willies, 2 Philip  
Litzenbergers, 2 Louies, 2 Franks, 2 Johns, and 1 each of Ella, Emma,  
Margaret, Lillie, Sophie, Joe, Jacob, Herman, Fred, Amil, Reinhold,  
Harry, Mary, Martha, Barbara, Tillie, Adam and Cecil.

    A note on the back of one photo and subsequent letters make it possible
to match up some of the above names and add a couple:
